This is True

’Till Death Do We Part

Jenny Roper of Elizabeth, Colo., was stunned when she was told by police that her husband, Wayne, had been arrested in a plot to have her killed. Wayne had allegedly traveled to South Bend, Ind., to hire a hit man, who turned out to be an undercover police officer. The undercover investigator says Wayne offered him $500 down, plus $25,000 after he collected on his wife’s life insurance policy. But Jenny, who works for the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Colorado, said her husband was stupid to think that would fly. “It’s embarrassing,” she said. “I have inmates who are hit men; they don’t take anything less than $10,000 up front.” (Denver Post) ...Some men are so dumb — they never think to ask their wives for professional advice.
