Wendy Cannon has finished her study at Canada’s Vancouver General Hospital. She followed the progress of several people who were attacked by grizzly bears, which typically weigh 300 to 800 pounds. The victims had torn-off scalps, serious lacerations, and other injuries. Each needed 31 to 55 days of hospital care after their life-threatening attacks. Her conclusion: grizzly bear attacks lead to nightmares and psychological problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder. (UPI) ...Cannon’s next study: finding out whether researchers like it when you give them million-dollar study grants.
