Adventures in Wildlife II

Fishermen are demanding that the New Mexico State Game and Fish Department do something about Lake Quemado. But even after removing about 45,000 goldfish from the lake, about 65,000 are still clogging the water, making it difficult to fish for more desirable species. The fish are thought to have bred from live bait dumped into the water. “When we got there I was shocked. The whole cove by the boat ramp was orange,” says Ernest Jaquez, a state fisheries manager. He says the state will try less extreme options before draining or poisoning the lake, such as “training bass to eat the goldfish.” (AP) ...Or arming them with shotguns.
