Toledo, Ohio, Mayor Carty Finkbeiner offered a solution to complaints from residents about high noise levels in neighborhoods near the airport: move deaf people there. Reacting to outrage from the deaf community, the mayor said “I didn’t say that it was a good or bad idea.... [just] that it was an interesting idea.” (AP) ...I’m not saying he’s a smart mayor or a stupid mayor, just an interesting mayor.
