The U.K.’s Ministry of Defence recently issued a formal apology to residents of the village of Gollinglith Foot in North Yorkshire, England. Several months ago, five Tornado jets practiced a bombing run on the village phone box. The run, at an altitude of only 250 feet, caused panic among farm animals; one horse died after kicking through a fence.
