A Story Subject Responds
For what I think is the first time, I hear an objection from the subject of one of True's stories. In True's 15 November issue, there was a story about a Catholic newspaper in Canada which seemingly endorsed the murder of Dr. Barnett Slepian, an American doctor who performed abortions. I got an e-mail from the subject of that story, B.C. Catholic editor Paul Schratz. Subscribe for Free At first, I wasn't sure what to do with it; he wanted to clarify his intentions about his editorial with my readers. I wanted to give him a chance to respond (it isn't often that the subject of a True story wants to rebut!), but his letter is too long for the newsletter -- and my response at least doubled the length. But that's what a web site is for! So a copy of the story, his letter, and my response to his rebuttal has been posted here. This story, and the ensuing controversy, is what I think started the trend of some humorless readers calling me "anti-Christian". Blog Updates
