  Sacrifice, and Apologies - Comments

Posted by Trisha in Texas on September 26, 2011:

This made my day. I have a great deal of difficulty understanding how the "big people" in the world become so focused on their agendas that they can't see how their behavior so harshly affects those of us who aren't big people.

John in North Carolina, your message gives me heart. I am encouraged that there are folks like you who do take Ms. Angelou's message to live by; you make life better for the rest of us.

Thanks Randy for posting John's message. It couldn't have come at a better time of the year! I sincerely hope John doesn't mind if I borrow it for an apology I need to make.

When I told John I posted this, he replied to say thanks, and explained it's Rosh Hashanah -- "Jewish new year" -- "and we have the habit of making amends to our friends and acquaintances before doing so before God." Sounds like a good tradition. -rc

Dammit, Randy, thinking is painful! Why do you suppose I watch and listen to all those "news" programs that tell me how to think? Encouraging people to think will be our downfall. We might even question our own values and revise them. Haven't you heard about Absolute Truth? Too much thinking is a bad thing. At least I think so....

Regarding Mike From Dallas' sardonic post, it reminded me that there is only one ABSOLUTE TRUTH. That is a 5-4 decision from the Supreme Court.
