True in Print
There is a way for you to get more True without having to upgrade to a "Premium" subscription: True runs in publications in three countries, but we're far from reaching the saturation point! Free Weird Newsletter If there's a paper you'd like to see True in every week, please write the paper's editor a letter saying so. Editors are usually writers, too, and they appreciate well-crafted letters from their readers. Tell them why True would be a good addition to their paper, and please do give them our address of our publisher info page. If you send me a copy of your letter, by e-mail or on paper, we'll follow up with the editor and, if they subscribe to True, I'll send you a nice "thank you" gift. So why don't I just contract with a big newspaper syndicate? I was indeed offered a multi-year contract last year from one of the largest syndicates in the world. But when it became clear that I would completely lose control over distribution (meaning that True would very likely be pulled off the 'net entirely, among other things), I turned the contract down. Thanks to a lot of custom software, True remains pretty much a one-man effort. I contract with others for services I can't (or won't) do myself, so the spread of True into newspapers is a slow process -- only the things I have time for, or can afford to pay someone to do, get done. That's why I asked for your help, and that's why I continually promote the True books and "Premium" subscriptions -- it helps things run while the newspaper distribution expands. So when I said that your purchases "help", I really meant it: your purchases don't enrich a large syndicate, they help True continue to be available on the 'net! The "Premium" edition now has subscribers in 21 countries, and True books have been bought by readers in about 30 countries (sometimes in lots of 10 or 15 copies for gifts). I appreciate every one of those purchases very, very much! Blog Updates
