Can You Spare a Butt, Gov’ner?

George Allen, the governor of Virginia, has been passing out cigarettes. People “should be smoking Virginia cigarettes” if they smoke, he said. “Why smoke North Carolina or Kentucky cigarettes? There are a lot of good cigarettes made in Virginia,” he added. Allen doesn’t smoke himself, but dips snuff. His brand is made in Tennessee. (AP) ...If his campaign succeeds, more people will die from Virginia cigarettes than from those of any other state. That’s something any politician can be proud of.
