Police in Ingolstadt, Germany, knew they had good cause to issue a citation when they caught a driver going 250 kph in a 100 kph zone (155 mph in a 60 mph zone). But they were more astounded that the driver was reading a newspaper at the same time. The man’s fine was 1,600 marks (US$700), and he is banned from driving for three months. In his defense, the unidentified driver allegedly told officers, “I was just checking up on my stocks and shares. I wasn’t reading a big feature or anything.” (PA) ...See you in the funny papers.
