Cattle Car Class

The buzz in the airline industry lately is Economy Class Syndrome. The term describes the deep vein thrombosis (blood clots) that results when people are forced to sit immobile in too-small seats with inadequate leg room. The condition can be quite serious if the clot ends up in the brain, heart or lung. A recent study at Tokyo’s Narita airport found that 25 passengers have died at the airport clinic from the problem over the last eight years, and 100–150 more had lesser, but often still-serious, symptoms. (Reuters) ...And all this time we thought Economy Class Syndrome was the shock that hits passengers when they found the person sitting next to them only paid half as much for their ticket.
