Clifton Courtney Moss, 75, has pleaded guilty after firebombing Australia’s Parliament House in Canberra. “I was surprised to get one off. Two was a bonus,” he told officers who grabbed him before he could throw a third. The firebombs caused minor damage to the building, and Moss faces up to 15 years in prison on charges of arson and damaging property. Several years ago, Moss had smashed his car into the building’s foyer. The gasoline bombs were to protest a bill for A$55,000 (US$36,500) he had received to pay for the damage he caused in the car crash.
