Britain’s 758-million-pound (US$1.2 billion) Millennium Dome has been a flop. It attracts just half the projected visitors and has been in severe financial difficulty since the start. The latest bid to buy the Dome — for just 105 million pounds (US$176 million) — fell through, but Pierre-Yves Gerbeau, the London attraction’s current general manager, has a plan to save it. “If it is not bought I am going to buy it myself,” he has announced. (AFP) ...No wonder the Dome is in financial trouble: they’re obviously paying the staff way too much.
