Nicolas Villarruel, 29, of Denver was at work when a machine blew up. That was bad enough, but the blast drove an explosive cartridge used to inflate steering wheel airbags into his nose, and it became lodged in his nostril. The bomb squad took him to a hospital where a surgeon, dressed in a lead-lined gown, removed the charge with the assistance of bomb squad technicians.
