Don’t Touch That Dial

Chicago public radio station KBEZ’s Annoying Music show is such a success, it’s going national. The three-minute broadcast features strange songs that might not get played by other stations, such as Slim Whitman yodeling “It’s a Small World”. Jim Nayder, the program’s creator, says that the “Small World” song “is annoying on its own, but this particular version was like a train wreck.” Nayder makes a distinction between bad and annoying. “Bad music, you switch the station. Annoying music is sort of like passing an accident — you know you don’t want to look, but you sort of have to.” (AP) ...Kind of like Madonna’s panties.
