This is True

Double Feature

The producers of the TV show Baywatch are fuming because residents of a beach community in Australia are rejecting plans to move production there permanently. The show, featuring busty (and a few brawny) beach lifeguards, is currently filmed in California, but producers want to move Down Under to save on costs. They were met by 1,700 protestors when they announced plans to move the show to Avalon, outside Sydney. “We’re not going to go where we’re not wanted,” Greg Bonnan, the show’s executive producer, said later. “It’s a matter of who wants us to spend a couple of hundred million dollars in six years and who wants to export to the world the most important television program,” he sniffed. (AFP) ...It’s just like a Baywatch man to think that “big” is the same as “important”.
