Excuses, Excuses

During a crackdown on bad drivers, the Ontario (Canada) Provincial Police gave 473 citations to 599 drivers in one day. In one case, an officer found a woman driving a minivan while looking into the back seat. He pulled her over to see what she was doing. “The woman was reading to her young son and, when the officer questioned her about it, she told the officer she only had two pages to go,” an OPP spokesman said. A man driving 191 kph (118 mph) on a city street told officers he needed to find a gas station quickly because his tank was almost empty. But the capper of the day was a man driving 176 kph in a 100 kph zone (109 mph in a 62 mph zone) screaming into his cell phone. Before officers could pull him over, he “rolled down his window and threw the cell phone at a passing transport truck,” the spokesman said. (Toronto Sun) ..."It’s for you.”
