Fill ’er Up

Ship Bottom, N.J., gas station owner Mark Thomas says Judith Piorkowski asked for a fill-up, but then told him she only had $5 to pay for the $14 worth of gas he pumped. He said no when she asked if she could pay the rest next week, so she allegedly tried to run him over. He jumped up onto her hood to avoid being hit, and “I was holding onto the windshield wiper and the radio antenna,” Thomas said. Piorkowski allegedly drove at speeds up to 80 mph while Thomas held on for dear life. A police officer saw the duo drive by and pulled them over, and the woman has been charged with robbery and aggravated assault. What goes through a man’s mind in such a dangerous situation? “I was ...thinking I should have let her pay next week,” Thomas said. (AP) ...Wrong! People need to learn that “no means no.”
