The owners of an Indian restaurant in Derby, England, have purchased a retired Lockheed TriStar airliner and plan to make the structure into a restaurant. “We believe something like this would be of great benefit to Derby,” said restauranteur Bobby Sodhi. “It would attract more people to the city and provide a lot of interest.” The plane will be cut up, transported to Derby, put back together, and refitted with a new interior at a cost of over 1 million pounds (US$1.45 million).
