A study by the Internal Revenue Service finds that members of Congress and their staffs are $10.5 million in arrears on their income taxes. As of the first of the fiscal year, 8.4 percent of the House of Representatives’ employees were late on paying taxes, and 7.5 percent of the Senate’s. The IRS didn’t just single out Congress, however. They also noted that 8.2 percent of FBI employees are in arrears, as are 9.2 percent of Education Department employees and 8.1 percent of the general public. However, only 3.8 percent of the Treasury Department, which includes the IRS, are late. (AP) ...You bet: they’re the only feds who really know how nasty the IRS can be!
