Britain is in an uproar over the gingerbread man. Or, as the case may be, the gingerbread person. Safeway supermarket stores across the U.K. will now offer “an equal number of gingerbread men and gingerbread women,” the store has announced. But “this is utter nonsense, a waste of time and effort,” complains Mayor Mike Williams of Grantham, England, where the popular biscuit originated in 1740. “It’s political correctness gone way beyond the pale. It’s not as if he has all his naughty bits showing.” (Reuters) ...Not the way you people make them, anyway.
