Martin Juergens of Westphalia, Germany, is upset with Dennis Hope of Rio Vista, California. In 1980, Hope sold 1,700 tracts of land on the moon for $16 each. But, Juergens says, “The moon has belonged to my family since 15 July, 1756,” when Frederick the Great gave it to his ancestor, Aul, as a gift. “Frederick decreed that the moon would remain in my family’s possession forever, and should be passed on to the youngest born son,” Juergens said. He says he wrote to Hope “in diplomatic but firm tones,” but didn’t say if he has heard back. (Reuters) ...Possession is 9/10ths of the law.
