State District Judge Lon Harper has been reprimanded after he “failed to act in a dignified manner” in court. During the jury selection for a capital murder trial, the Houston, Texas, judge sat at his bench cleaning two antique revolvers. “I guess I won't do any more handgun repair on the bench,” Harper said later. “Almost all the judges carry guns, I should have just kept mine under the robe instead of outside of it with a screwdriver.” He added that no one saw him cleaning the guns, and noted “sometimes people who can't walk and chew gum at the same time don't believe other people can.” (Reuters) ...But when you trip, you're not the one who dies.
