Linda Worrall, a mail sorter for New Zealand Post, suffers from arachnophobia — an unnatural fear of spiders. So she doesn’t think much of the country’s new stamp series, “Creepy Crawlies”, which features a katipo, a poisonous spider. Now, whenever she sees a letter with the spider stamp, she goes into a panic. “It’s something that could come off the page, which I know sounds silly,” Worrall says. “It’s hard for people to understand, but it’s so real.” NZ Post is paying for counseling.
