This is True

Have It Your Way

Prison guards transporting 11 inmates from Kansas to Florida stopped at a Burger King in Owatonna, Minn., for lunch. When one guard went in to order, the prisoners tossed the other guard out the van’s door and took off. When the van was found later, eight were still inside; two others were caught within 20 minutes. Meanwhile, two guards employed by a private security firm transporting prisoners from Memphis, Tenn., to Georgia have been arrested after allegedly drinking during the trip. Police say the two guards got into a fight, and the driver stopped and pushed the other guard out the door and drove off. The driving guard was charged with drunk driving; the guard who was pushed out was charged with filing a false police report after he told officers that the prisoners had pushed him out and had taken the driver hostage. And both were charged with sharing their booze with the prisoners. The prisoners were not charged with any crime. “They didn’t do anything wrong,” said a county sheriff. “They were given a beverage and they partook.” (AP, 2) ...And for just 39 cents, they could have Supersized it.
