It has long been a tradition to make available to the public American flags that “have flown” over the U.S. Capitol in Washington DC. But they have become so popular that there are now three full-time Capitol employees running 500 flags up the pole per day to satisfy demand. To make sure the employees actually run the flags up the pole, and not just open the boxes and show them to the sky, Architect of the Capitol George White has installed a security camera so that the employees know they are being watched.
