I’m Late, I’m Late, Hold My Plane Up at the Gate

An unidentified man who was apparently late for a flight from Rome, Italy, to Caracas, Venezuela, allegedly used his cellular telephone to call in a bomb threat on the flight he was supposed to take, hoping that the delay caused by the search for the bomb would ground the plane long enough for him to get on. He drove the last few miles, found the plane still waiting, and got in line to check in. Meanwhile, police had traced the call to the cell phone and identified its owner, and pulled the culprit out of line. The man, who was charged and released, was allowed to board the plane, which departed about a half-hour late. (Reuters) ...Um, I think I’d like to cash in this ticket — I won’t be returning after all.
