Aundra Akins, 18, thought the 27-year sentence he received for his role in the Florida robbery of two British tourists that left one dead was a bit harsh, so he appealed based on a technicality. A jury convicted him again in the retrial, and the judge indeed thought a 27-year sentence was not altogether fair. Given the chance to rectify the injustice, he sentenced Akins to life.
