Yarneiser Perez, a contract employee at the Bankers Trust Co. in Trenton, N.J., has been convicted of federal charges after using the bank’s phone to call a female friend in the Dominican Republic, where she worked as a telephone psychic, presumably to help increase her earnings. The scheme came to light thanks to the 546.5 hours of calls to the same “900” number, which added $164,378.74 to the bank’s phone bill.
