II Robot

Dr. William E. Kelley Jr. is the first U.S. surgeon to use the newly approved da Vinci Surgical System on a human patient. The robot, which is inserted through tiny incisions, “gives you the ability to get your instruments where they need to be,” says a heart surgeon who has reviewed the device, and the small incisions can be covered with “a few Band-Aids.” The $1 million robotic surgical assistant removed the gall bladder of a 35-year-old woman in Richmond, Va. (AP) ...“It was delicious,” da Vinci said afterward.
