Dutch police have gone back to basics. While some investigators are making strides with DNA typing, police in the Netherlands have expanded basic fingerprinting technology — to ear prints. Apparently, some burglars listen at doors and windows before breaking in, leaving behind a clear impression of their ears. Several convictions have been made on the basis of the ear evidence.
