Legal Loophole

The State of Texas, seeking to ensure gay marriages would not be legal, will issue marriage licenses only to couples where one person is genetically a male and the other is genetically a female. No problem, said Jessica Wicks and Robin Manhart. Robin was born male, and is a transsexual who now considers herself female. But because Robin is genetically a male, the Bexar County Clerk had no choice but to issue the couple a marriage license. They were married at the Metropolitan Community Church in San Antonio while protesters marched outside. State Rep. Warren Chisum, an opponent of same-sex marriage, shrugged, “You can't make laws to cover every little detail.” (AP) ...Which of course doesn't mean he's not going to try.
