Let’s Play House

Lee Duncan was watching her niece play with her Barbie dolls, but the girl couldn’t quite relate to them. The child said “nobody looks like Barbie,” Duncan says, so she invented a doll to better match the styles she’s seen around her home in Lismore, New South Wales, Australia. The result is “Feral Cheryl”. So far, sales of the US$7.30 doll have been slow. “When they notice she has pierced nipples and pubic hair they do get a bit of a shock,” Duncan said. The doll also features dreadlocks, tattoos and unshaven legs. (Reuters) ...Well, if the kid can relate to that, she shouldn’t have been playing with Barbie in the first place.
