A shootout between two capitol police officers inside the state police complex in Lansing, Mich., has left both officers dead. The two, a man and a woman, shot each other with their 9 mm duty sidearms. Investigators theorize that the shooting was the culmination of “relentless” teasing over the woman’s weight by her 14-year patrol partner. Meanwhile, two officers in Miami Shores, Fla., have resigned after being suspended after allegedly making out while on duty. A security camera at a police substation shows officer Robert Davis, 42, who is married, and officer Tammy Merritt, 32, removing their gun belts, and then hugging and kissing.
