Mommy Dearest

A Venezuelan tourist apparently wasn’t satisfied with her family’s $99-per-person hot-air balloon ride over the Vail, Colo., ski resort area. After landing, she complained the ride wasn’t long or high enough, so the pilot offered to refund half their money. Apparently that wasn’t good enough, so the woman and her stepfather leaned into the balloon’s basket to talk about it more. That’s when the balloon took off. Her stepfather let go, but the woman went up, up and away, until the balloon reached the end of its 20-foot tether. “He just take off. That basket went high so quick that when I turned down and saw my 23-year-old son howling Mommy, let go!’,” she said. “If I let go in that moment, I would have even died.” (Denver Post) ...That may have been the idea.
