Nailed

Simon Montez, 43, was doing some work in his basement in Denver, Colo., using a nail gun to tack strips to the ceiling. The kick of the nail gun caught him by surprise and pushed the device behind his head, and he accidentally fired the full length of a 3-1/2-inch nail into his skull. He was rushed to the hospital in surprisingly good condition. “If you had shown me these X-rays without the patient in front of me, I’d say it was somebody with a significant amount of brain damage — or dead,” said an astounded Dr. Chris Colwell. Montez was worried enough that he asked for a lawyer before he went into surgery to draw up a will, but the nail just missed his brain stem and a major artery, and he’s fine. “I could describe him as extraordinarily lucky,” Colwell said. “It might have been a good day for him to play the lottery.” (Denver Post) ...What, and ruin his winning streak?
