A restaurant in Hanover, Germany, says its special menu item, “sushi a la virgin”, is a huge hit despite its price of 400 marks (US$250) per person. The raw fish is served on nude women “platters”. Though the women, usually students in their 20s, “aren’t entirely naked,” according to a local newspaper. “Caviar is stuffed into their belly buttons, sword fish sushi is stuck near their armpits and between their legs is raw tuna fish sushi awaiting the hungry guests.” The women are required to lie motionless, but the room is extra warm for their comfort, and they are paid up to 800 marks per shift.
