They had had enough. Large rats running through underground storm drains were frightening residents in Pentre, Wales, so two men tried to burn them out. But the flames ignited a pocket of methane, and the resulting explosion blew manhole covers into the air and broke windows. “It was a miracle no one was injured or killed,” a fire brigade spokesman said. It was not determined if the rats were injured. (Reuters) ...The rats are probably happy to be rid of the methane.
