Oh, Romeo!

The English National Ballet wants its performers to have more spring in their steps in their production of Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet ballet: it is urging the performers to have sex before the show. “All we are saying is, Can you get very amorous off-stage so that you can come and feel your role during the performance’,” said spokesman Raymond Gubbay. “This is a very sexually orientated production and without being vulgar, I want it to have more sexual overtones,” confirms company artistic director Derek Deane. “They hardly wear anything in the studios and get to touch every part of each other’s bodies anyway.” (Reuters) ...“’Tis an ill cook that cannot lick his own fingers.” (act 4, scene 2)
