On a Roll

The Philadelphia, Pa., city employee in charge of stocking Veterans Stadium with toilet paper has been fired. City Controller Jonathan A. Saidel charges the employee used $34,000 in city funds to buy toilet paper, but then apparently sold it, leaving the stadium short before a Philadelphia Eagles football game. “We don’t really know how long this was going on,” a city spokesman said. “But man, he really wiped that stadium clean.” (AP) ...That’s it, Saidel: give him his walking papers.
