This is True

On the Face of It

The University of Idaho has replaced a photo on its web site showing racial diversity on its campus after it was revealed that the photo was faked. School officials tried to find a photo to show its diversity, but when it couldn’t find one, a stock photo of a group of students was doctored to replace two white faces with the faces of a black and an Asian. The action came just days after the University of Wisconsin-Madison spent $64,000 to reprint its admissions brochure after it was revealed that its “diversity photo” was faked by adding a black face to a crowd of whites at a football game. (AP, 2) ...If they spent as much effort at encouraging diversity as faking it, they wouldn’t have to fake it.
