Sony’s new high-end Handycam video camera includes an infrared feature which allows shooting in the dark, but enterprising videographers have figured out that using the feature in daylight with a special filter enables the camera to see through light clothing. “When we developed this feature... we were thinking of people filming night views — their children sleeping, or perhaps the nocturnal behavior of animals,” a spokesman said. Sony has modified the camera so that the infrared mode only works in the dark, but more than 870,000 of the cameras with the “see through” feature have already been sold. (Reuters) ...Making them the first consumer video product whose value actually went up after purchase.
