Please Leave Your Threat at the Sound of the Beep

Robert Lirette apparently was unhappy that his wife got a speeding ticket. The Houma, La., man left a phone message at the district attorney’s office, saying he would “buy some guns and go to [the state police] and take care of business” rather than pay the ticket, prosecutors say. He also allegedly called the governor’s mansion to say that he would “get an airplane and crash it into the governor’s mansion.” It wasn’t hard to track Lirette down: he left his name and phone number both times. He was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Jail on three counts of felony intimidation. Lirette’s wife had no comment. (AP) ...Or, at least when she does make a comment, she doesn’t include her name and phone number.
