John Robert Broos Jr., 57, said he was robbed in the parking lot of the St. Croix casino in Turtle Lake, Wisc. Police realized the security camera on the parking lot probably had evidence of the crime. It did. It shows Broos hitting his own head on a light pole, then wiping his hand on the ground and rubbing dirt on his face. After looking at himself in the mirror of a pickup truck, he was apparently unconvinced, so he went back to the light pole and whacked his head again. Broos was arrested and charged with obstruction. He faces up to nine months in jail and a $10,000 fine. (AP) ...But he hopes the judge will go for “double or nothing.”
