Two men from Florida have been charged with possession of a stolen Palm Beach County voting booth, complete with the infamous “butterfly ballot” booklet still attached. In order to profit from the crime, police say, Mark Bruce Richter and Steven Robert Solomon planned to sell the machine. A Palm Beach County election worker saw it openly listed on the Internet auction site eBay. An undercover officer put in the successful bid and arrested the pair when he went to pick the machine up. “These guys were not mental giants,” a Florida Department of Law Enforcement spokesman said.
