Reduce, Reuse, RecycleThe California State Cemetery Board is investigating a cemetery in Santa Fe Springs, near downtown Los Angeles. About 200 grave markers, as well as numerous bones and pieces of old coffins, have been found in a dirt pile there, suggesting that graves have been dug up to be resold to new occupants — perhaps as many as eight times. Raymond Giunta, the Board’s executive officer, said it would be impossible to identify individual remains so they could be reburied, so all of the bones will be put into a mass grave.
