Reports of My Death Exaggerated

Machinist Jason Miller, 26, needed a few days off work to look for a new job. In order to get time off, the Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, man placed a notice in the newspaper announcing his father’s death, then asked his boss for “bereavement leave”. But the scheme unraveled when the father saw the notice and called the police to complain. “I am alive and well but this thing has left me shaken,” he said. The younger Miller has pleaded guilty to “causing a bogus newspaper advert to be placed in a newspaper” and faces three months in jail. (Reuters) ...It’s either jail, or dad will see to it Jason’s death notice is printed soon.
