Rest Stop

A truck carrying Rockport, Nike, Tommy Hilfiger and Timberland shoes was looted while it was parked in a West Palm Beach, Fla., neighborhood, police said. Some of the looters left their old shoes behind as they shopped for new treads in the back of the truck.”It was a free for all,” said one witness. “Everyone came from everywhere.” About 3400 pairs were missing. The driver, Herbert Gross, 37, allegedly told police he had stopped along his route to look for a prostitute and some marijuana, and the truck was broken into while he was with the professional woman. A police officer on the scene said no one bothered to ask residents to return the shoes since that would be “stupid”. (AP) ...Would that be more or less stupid than telling the police that the reason for stopping was to find a hooker and drugs?
