Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II is worried that her flock of budgerigars is dwindling. She is appealing for some fresh, purebred females to help replenish the stock of birds that have graced the grounds of Windsor Castle since the 1930s. Keeper of the Royal Budgerigars Graham Stone lamented that “They haven’t had any fresh blood for decades. They seem to have lost the vigor of breeding in the past two years, because they are getting too inbred.” (AFP) ...I don’t really have to write the punchline down for you to get it, do I?
