Same Song, Different Verse

Mattel, Inc., has sued MCA records over the song “Barbie Girl” by the Danish group Aqua. The song includes such lyrics as “Make me walk, make me talk / Do whatever you please / I can act like a star / I can beg on my knees.” A Mattel spokesman says the song “represents a blatant and unauthorized use of our most valuable property,” the Barbie doll. “It’s a brand we have built over the past 38 years and we will do everything possible to protect its integrity.” (AP) ...Barbie’s body is a temple; they merely want to prey.
